Beautification program for Batticaloa

A lagoon park built at a cost of Rs. 20 million was opened in the heart of the Batticaloa town.
The Urban Development Authority carried out this project under the town beautification program on the direction of the Economic Development Ministry. It was constructed under the Deyata Kirula program.
The opening ceremony was presided by Batticaloa Municipal Commissioner M. Uthayakumar.
Resettlement Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan, Batticaloa Government Agent P. S. M. Charles and Municipality Commissioner opened the park.
Urban Development Authority Director Nanthana Gunaratna, Municipality Engineer P. Attuthan, Assistant Commissioner N. Thannanjeyan participated.
